NEET
Know this exam before you sit it
Who it's for
Class 12 (or equivalent) students with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology, aiming for MBBS, BDS, and other medical/dental/AYUSH undergraduate seats in India.
Exam pattern
- Objective MCQs across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
- Biology typically carries the heaviest weight
- Negative marking applies — accuracy matters more than speed
Before exam day
- Follow the dress code and ID rules printed on your admit card exactly
- Arrive well before the reporting time — late entry is usually not allowed
- Carry only what your admit card permits into the hall
We deliberately don't publish applicant counts or cutoff ranks here. Both swing sharply every year by category, institute, branch, and counselling round — a number quoted today is likely wrong by the time you sit the exam. For current figures, go straight to the exam's own conducting body (NTA for JEE/NEET, UPSC for civil services, IBPS/SBI for banking, SSC, your regional RRB for Railway, or your state's Public Service Commission) — that's the only source that won't mislead you.
