Know this exam before you sit it
Who it's for
10th pass to graduate candidates (depending on the post — NTPC, Group D, ALP, etc.) aiming for a role in Indian Railways, recruited through the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).
Exam pattern
- One or more computer-based tests (CBT stages)
- Mathematics, General Intelligence, and General Science/Awareness
- Some posts add a physical efficiency test after the CBT stages
Before exam day
- Confirm whether your post needs a physical test and prepare for it alongside written prep
- Speed matters — CBT stages are usually tightly timed
- Revise basic science and general awareness consistently, not just before the exam
⚠️
We deliberately don't publish applicant counts or cutoff ranks here. Both swing sharply every year by category, institute, branch, and counselling round — a number quoted today is likely wrong by the time you sit the exam. For current figures, go straight to the exam's own conducting body (NTA for JEE/NEET, UPSC for civil services, IBPS/SBI for banking, SSC, your regional RRB for Railway, or your state's Public Service Commission) — that's the only source that won't mislead you.
