SSC
Know this exam before you sit it
Who it's for
10+2 pass or graduate candidates (depending on the specific SSC exam — CGL, CHSL, MTS, etc.) aiming for non-gazetted and gazetted posts across central government ministries and departments.
Exam pattern
- Multi-tier: computer-based tests, often followed by a skill/typing or descriptive tier
- Quant, Reasoning, English, and General Awareness
- Tier requirements differ by the specific post applied for
Before exam day
- Check which tiers your target post actually requires — don't over- or under-prepare
- Static GK needs steady revision — it's a large, fact-heavy section
- Practice full computer-based mocks so the interface itself isn't a surprise
We deliberately don't publish applicant counts or cutoff ranks here. Both swing sharply every year by category, institute, branch, and counselling round — a number quoted today is likely wrong by the time you sit the exam. For current figures, go straight to the exam's own conducting body (NTA for JEE/NEET, UPSC for civil services, IBPS/SBI for banking, SSC, your regional RRB for Railway, or your state's Public Service Commission) — that's the only source that won't mislead you.
